The Human Rights Act removed the right of regulatory bodies to carry out covert surveillance unless there was strict compliance with the Regulation of Investigatory Powers Act (RIPA).
This flexible RIPA training course is suitable for any such regulatory body (i.e. Councils, Police, Royal Pharmaceutical Society etc) either as an update or as an initial introduction or grounding for Directed Surveillance.
It is adaptable for the roles of RIPA applicant, gatekeeper or authorising officer whilst the practical exercises are tailored to ensure direct relevance for the delegates.
It provides a solid foundation in Law and Good Practice, clarifies and explores the different roles and their responsibilities, provides real – world relevance and examples and includes practical sessions and example based applications of the law. It covers Covert Human Intelligence Sources (CHIS).
The RIPA course can also be broken down into separate modules depending on your requirements.,
We currently carry out training for local councils and police authorities as well as other authorised agencies; we can supply references if required.
